HOME BUYER INSPECTION

  • We will discharge our duties with fidelity to the public and to our clients, with fairness and impartiality to all.
  • Opinions expressed by us will be based only on our education, experience, and honest convictions.
  • We will not disclose any information about the results of an inspection without the approval of the client for whom the inspection was performed, or the client’s representative.
  • We will not accept compensation or any other consideration from more than one interested party for the same service without the written consent of all interested parties.
  • We will not be compensated, either financially or through other services or benefits, realty agents or other parties with a financial interest in closing or  settlement of real estate transactions.
  • We will not express, within the context of an inspection, an appraisal or opinion of the market value of the inspected property.
  • Before the execution of a contract to perform a home inspection, we will disclose to the client any interest we have in a business that may create a conflict of interest for the home inspector.
  • We will not allow our interest in any business to affect the quality or results of the inspection work that the licensee may be called upon to perform.
  • We will not solicit for repairs of systems or components found defective in the course of a home inspection performed by us, except as a License General Contractor making an on-site inspection of a residential building for which we are preparing plans, designs, specifications or estimates for construction, remodeling, or repairs.
  • We will not inspect properties under contingent arrangements whereby any compensation or future referrals are dependent on reported findings or on the sale of a property.
  • We will not impugn the professional reputation or practice of another home inspector, nor criticize another inspector’s reports.

GENERAL CONTRACTOR SERVICES

  • We will Abide by the bylaws, rules, and procedures of the NC General Contractor Licensing Board.
  • We will not disclose any information about the results of our service without the approval of the client for whom the service was performed, or the clients’ representative.
  • Before the execution of a contract to perform our services, we will disclose to the client any interest we have in a business that may create a conflict of interest. 
  • We will not engage in false or misleading advertising or otherwise misrepresent any matters to the public.
  • Opinions expressed by us will be based only on our education, experience, and honest convictions.
  • We will comply with all applicable warranty laws and building codes.
  • Conduct all transactions, agreements, and dealings with customers, employees, subcontractors, suppliers, and regulatory officials in a manner that is free from fraud or deception, and comply with the requirements of the NC General Contractor Licensing Board.
  • Comply with all other applicable local, state and federal laws and regulations.
  • Maintain insurance as may be required by law, including but not limited to general liability at a level that is adequate.
